Become part of the Digital Storytelling Workshop on the SDGs!

Apply to take part in a 7-day Youth Exchange event in Băile Tușnad, Romania!

Partners from Benin, Italy, Hungary, Romania and the UK are organising an exchange event for young people as part of the Youth in Progress and Partnership for Equality and Exchange (YIPPEE) Project (funded under the Erasmus + Capacity Building in the Field of Youth Programme).

During the weeklong workshop programme, participants will be supported to use digital storytelling to promote active engagement with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).


If you are…

  • between 18 and 30 years old;
  • excited at the idea of working together with people from other countries;
  • interested to learn more about digital storytelling;
  • open to exploring what the Sustainable Development Goals mean to you;
  • and willing to apply what you learn through follow-up activities in your own community

 

…then become part of the Digital Storytelling Workshop on the SDGs!


We encourage young people of all backgrounds to apply, regardless of social or economic circumstance!

 

Activities: 

  • Interactive, creative workshops and discussion about the SDGs
  • Fieldtrips to grassroots social and/or educational initiatives in Romania
  • Learning how to create digital stories
  • Sharing your learning with your local community

Commitment:

  • Attend preparatory meeting(s) in your country prior to the Romania workshop (May or June 2018)
  • Attend the weeklong Romania workshop (13-20 July 2018)
  • With the support of your local project coordinator and youth worker(s), take part in at least one local event back in your own country that promotes the project to others (between end of July and September 2018).

 

Accommodation: 
The accommodation is located on the same site as the workshop venue: a youth camp in Băile Tușnad, Harghita CountyRomania. Băile Tușnad lies in the Székely Land, an ethno-cultural region in eastern Transylvania. You will sleep in 2-4 bed dorm rooms with other workshop participants.


Food:

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided at the workshop venue. If you are vegetarian/vegan or have any other special dietary needs or food allergies, please let us know in advance and we will organise with the venue!

Costs:
Participation in the workshop is free. The cost of all travel, food and accommodation is covered by the project. There are no other reimbursements.

Closing date for applications: Saturday 5 May 2018.

Interviews will be held on the afternoon of Friday 11 May.

2 people will be selected and results will be shared within two weeks of the application deadline.
