Learning from the Past: sharing our heritage map with young people

11/10/2019

Global Link is excited to launch the map created by our Erasmus+ project partners which documents European histories of peace and internationalism between the wars.

On Thursday 17 October 2019 we will officially launch our Learning from the Past online map at an event with 3rd Parbold & Dalton Girl Guide Company. The young people will hear some of the stories our adult volunteers have researched about people, organisations and events involved in promoting peace and international cooperation during the early 20th century and will explore the relevance of these stories for us today.

The Guide Company is also looking at some of their own Girlguiding archives to discover how Girl Guides from the past contributed towards these goals of peace and international friendship. They will add their own entry to our map and work with an artist to create a banner that conveys their message of peace to world leaders today.
