Lancaster and Morecambe Fairtrade District

Lancaster, Morecambe and the surrounding areas are officially recognised by the Fairtrade Foundation as a Fairtrade District. This certification acknowledges the number of outlets supplying Fairtrade products, the many organisations and work places which support Fairtrade, the Lancaster, Morecambe and District Fairtrade Group which involves Lancaster City Council and the promotion of the Fairtrade message. The Fairtrade status is regularly reviewed.

The Lancaster and Morecambe District Fairtrade Group maintains a directory listing of outlets supplying Fairtrade products in Lancaster, Morecambe and District including cafés and pubs and hotels as well as retail outlets.

How you can support Fairtrade locally

Encourage your workplace or other organisation to include Fairtrade products when refreshments are provided. If a vending machine is proposed consider a supplier such as www.fairtradevending.co.uk.
