Documenting Dissent is a Community Digital History Project documenting political and religious dissent in Lancaster.
To launch the project, Global Link and the Friends’ Meeting House are hosting this free lecture on Thursday 11th July 2013 at 2 - 4 p.m.
The speakers will talk about groups and individuals who were imprisoned in Lancaster Castle.
Professor Emeritus Michael Mullett will explore the history of religious dissent, including Catholics, Quakers and other prisoners of conscience.
Dr. Robert Poole will explore the history of political dissent, in particular the trials of the Radicals and Chartists of the 19th century.
