By the end of course participants will be:

  • More confident in approaching controversial issues relating to asylum-seeking and migration.  
  • More confident in employing global teaching methods in their classrooms, including critical literacy. 
  • Introduced to a range of activities and resources to support community cohesion. 

This course will explore the relationship between conflict, poverty and migration and possible international responses to the crisis. It will enable teachers to deliver a full day European Summit simulation on the refugee crisis where pupils role play countries and other stakeholders at a conference simulation which involves presentations, negotiations and voting.
