CREATIVE LEARNING AND ACTION FOR A JUST AND SUSTAINABLE WORLD

Learning from the Past project training week

Global Link has hosted a very successful training week for the European partners involved in our Erasmus+ project, "Learning from the Past (so that we are not condemned to repeat it)".

Partners from Germany, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovenia recently visited Lancaster for a weeklong training programme in community heritage work. Events included workshops with staff from Global Link, Lancaster University and Documenting Dissent volunteers, along with a heritage tour of Lancaster and visits to Lancashire Archives in Preston and the Imperial War Museum and People’s History Museum in Manchester.

Following the training, the project partners will work with volunteers in their own countries to research and write up stories of interwar peace activism and internationalism that will feature on our online ‘Learning from the Past’ map: learningfromthepast.net.

The next project meeting will take place in Germany in June, where we will explore how to share the map with young people.
