  • Gisela Renolds

    Executive Director

    Has worked at Global Link since 1998, though started as a volunteer herself in 1995. She has delivered global education, including refugee awareness, projects in schools and the wider community and is currently Global Link’s Executive Director. She is also the local advisor for the British Council Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning programme and delivers much of Global Link’s global learning and refugee awareness training and workshops. With a MA in Creative Writing, she has used forum theatre in anti-racist school’s work, created Global Link’s multi-media exhibitions such as Escape to Safety and co-delivers the Digital Storytelling workshops. She is in the office most days until 3 pm.

  • Shorouk Shaheen

    Finance Officer & Caseworker

    Shorouk Shaheen is our finance officer. She is also a part-time Arabic speaking refugee support caseworker for Global Link, working Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays..

  • Alison Lloyd Williams

    Project Co-ordinator

    Alison has worked at Global Link since 2013, though she was involved with the organisation before that as a volunteer and freelance worker. Her background is in education, community theatre and participatory research. Alison’s main role at Global Link is to coordinate our community heritage projects but she also runs global learning workshops and training and has worked on several digital storytelling projects.

  • Eleanor Denvir

    Education Co-ordinator

    Eleanor Denvir is our Education Co-ordinator, organising and delivering ESOL classes in partnership with Lancaster and Morecambe City of Sanctuary. She also provides extensive further education advice, including working with partners to enrol students on other vocational courses.

  • Wael Alttarh

    IT Developer

    Wael is responsible for everything IT related, from fixing printers to GDPR to editing digital stories and websites. He has launched a new website RefugeeHome.uk, created collaboratively with asylum seeker volunteers. He also teaches basic IT skills courses in both Arabic and English. He has a software engineering certificate.

  • Vasliki Makri

    Caseworker

    Vasiliki, known as Vaso, recently joined Global Link as the Claver Hill food growing community worker, and is also now providing mental and physical health support to refugees and asylum seekers.

  • Ahmed Feroz

    Refugee Resettlement Caseworker

    Ahmed Feroz is a Pashto and Dari speaking part-time refugee support caseworker with lived experience of coming to the UK on a refugee resettlement programme.

  • Somayeh Roostaei

    Caseworker

    Somayeh Roostaei is a part-time Farsi speaking refugee support caseworker with lived experience of the asylum system. She works Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

  • Silvia Rossi

    Food and Chefs Network Co-ordinator

    Silvia Rossi is our Food and Chefs Network Co-ordinator, working on the LESS-led Climate Action project Closing Loops which seeks to increase the consumption of locally grown food across the District whilst reducing food waste.

  • Natalia Lozova

    Natalia works part-time for Global Link, delivering the Ukraine Welfare visits and running Global Link’s popular Lunch Drop in where refugees and asylum seekers cook a meal to share each week.
  • Anthony Briggs

    Blue Mentor Environmental Youth Worker

    Anthony joined Global Link in January 2024 as a Blue Mentor Environmental Youth Worker, part of the Blue Influencers scheme by The Ernest Cook Trust. His role is to inspire young people aged 10-14 to make a difference in their local community by tackling issues relating to climate change. These Blue Influencers learn about environmental social action and how they can protect the waters, habitats and wildlife around the Bay.

    An artist, producer and experienced practitioner, and with a background in socially engaged arts practice, Anthony has spent the last 18 years developing, managing and delivering programmes for, by and with children and young people across the Northwest.
