Poverty and Development

For both primary and secondary schools, this course increases teachers′ own knowledge of development and poverty.

Led by Gisela Renolds (BA Hons in Development Studies), the course is designed for primary and secondary school teachers and Governors

Poverty and Development Course Learning Outcomes:

• Increased understanding of ways of defining poverty and of some of the different approaches to development and global poverty reduction
• Increased understanding of global interdependence, sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals and ability to teach about them in the classroom
• Increased understanding of some of the causes and solutions to global poverty and how to address these in the classroom through global citizenship
