Galivash’s interview
A refugee from Iraq describes how Global Link helped her while she was an asylum seeker
Global Link helped with language, translations, they helped with doctor’s appointments about my eyes and back pain, with many things, mostly medical. I am very thankful.
Global Link offers many many things to asylum seekers and refugees. They help people with anything [people] need: with their papers, their solicitors, school, medical… with everything. I see they help a lot of people, many people are coming, especially on Tuesdays with the lunch drop in.
Without Global Link it would be very difficult in Lancaster, because when someone comes here and they don’t know the language, they don’t know where to go, they are at the bottom. They go to Global Link for help. I didn’t know anything, not even how to get to the train station. They are essential for the local [refugee] community.
