Your Rights, Our Rights – The Convention on the Rights of the Child for Young People with Learning Difficulties

All young people and adults should know about children’s rights, and in particular about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Young people with learning difficulties have a particular interest in children’s rights, as a rights focussed environment is even more important for them.

This interactive CD-ROM contains five units, each may take several sessions to run, depending on your students. Each unit contains a lesson plan with ideas for extension and differentiation. There are also resources to print or listen to.

The government has recognised that human rights education plays a crucial role in promoting the fundamental concepts enshrined in the duty to promote Community Cohesion. A cohesive society is one that respects equality, values diversity, and understands our sense of shared humanity.
