What We Do

‘Global Link is my home.’

Global Link offers advocacy, support, advice and information as well as a welcoming social space.

We can provide access to lawyers, health services, schools, to food and clothing, haircuts, English and other College classes, to volunteering, to social, cultural and physical activities and later, for those with Leave to Remain, we can help with finding work and housing, accessing benefits, travel documents and e-visas.

We host a weekly Lunch for asylum seekers, refugees and friends every week where we often host a presentation about life, work and culture in the UK and where we share information about other activities that are happening in the local area. We run arts and other creative workshops, hold a weekly food growing club at local community farm Claver Hill and do monthly hiking trips in the Lake District.

We host events that bring different communities together such as Christmas and Nowrus parties and Refugee Week.

We facilitate RAIL (refugees, asylum seekers in Lancaster), a group of people with lived experience who help guide what we do, and who produced for the new Labour Government in 2024 Click here to download it

We work in partnership with many local voluntary and statutory organisations to provide holistic support, and are registered with the Immigration Advice Authority at Level 1.
