Led by Dr. Alison Lloyd-Williams of Global Link, the course is designed for Secondary English teachers.
The KS3 ENGLISH AND GLOBAL LEARNING course will enable teachers to:
- Think about ‘English’ Language and Literature from a global perspective and the role of the subject in promoting active, global citizens
- Introduce teachers of English to the key concepts, skills and values of global learning and to reflect critically on the implications of this for teaching and learning in English
- Develop practical ideas and approaches that embed global learning in reading, writing and speaking and listening activities in the classroom
The Global Learning Programme is a ground-breaking new government initiative to create a national network of schools, committed to helping students make positive contributions to a globalised world by helping teachers deliver effective teaching and learning about development and global issues at Key Stages 2 and 3.
