What We Do

‘Global Link is my home.’

Global Link offers advocacy, support, advice and information as well as a welcoming social space.

We can provide access to lawyers, health services, schools, to food and clothing, haircuts, English and other College classes, to volunteering, to social, cultural and physical activities and later, for those with Leave to Remain, we can help with finding work and housing, accessing benefits, travel documents and e-visas.

We host a weekly Lunch for asylum seekers, refugees and friends every week where we often host a presentation about life, work and culture in the UK and where we share information about other activities that are happening in the local area.

We provide support to families, including those with pre-school children. In the past we have run parent courses and Rhythm & Rhyme courses with More Music for under 5 children. We currently run mother and baby classes with a focus on English language learning and play.

We host events that bring different communities together such as Christmas and Nowruz parties and Refugee week.

We facilitate RAIL (refugees, asylum seekers in Lancaster), a group of people with lived experience who help guide what we do, and who produced for the new Labour Government in 2024.
